The microswitch gives the appliance the ability to perform specific actions dependent on specific stimuli. The microswitch in a hydraulic diverter valve, for example, is switched on when a tap that is connected to the system is is switched on. The microswitch then sends a communication to the electronic control, letting it know that more hot water is needed and that the procedure for heating water should be activated. There are many different models of microswitch dependent on the location and what mechanism they are attached to.
